Announcing the launch of this year’s Standing Together, www.stogether.org, Rosh Hashana Card Project. This is the easiest and most important thing you can do to get ready for the New Year. It takes only seconds to send Israeli Soldiers your good wishes for their safety and well-being this coming year. All you have to do is visit www.stogether.org and click on the Rosh Hashana card banner. You will be guided to a quick and easy form that allows you to send either a pre-written message or one of your own to the young men and women protecting Israel. Something so small makes such a tremendous difference to the soldiers.
In the weeks to come, Standing Together volunteers will bring booklets full of the wishes from hundreds of people all over the world to soldiers at several different army bases. They will deliver sweet treats with the messages boost their morale at holiday time. During the holidays it is so important to let the soldiers know we appreciate their sacrifice. It is such a difficult time to be away from home. These soldiers are working when most of Israel is on vacation and spending time with friends and family.
Our volunteers are always amazed at how proud our soldiers are to receive the cards. Most people expect that making or writing the cards is symbolic of lending your support but that it doesn’t actually have a profound effect on our soldiers. In fact, the opposite is true. The soldiers quickly hang up the cards in whatever little guard booth or trailer they are spending their time. IDF soldiers are proud to know that they are important to people all over the world.
